Hi, Im sure you have heard this problem many times in the pass.

I have installed the latest version of the ps3 eye software. When I view the test window I get video for a second or to then it just crashes to a frozen frame that is multi coloured or just zigs and zags.

Is there a common cause for this? and maybe a fix?

Im running windows XP home, P4 3.2ghz, 2gig ram.

If anyone could help i’d be grateful

Many Thanks

Terry

Your machine is a bit on the low side. This means that your machine might be dropping some USB data packets.
Check you DPC latency. Also try to plug your camera into another USB port.

Hi thanks for getting back to me.

I have downloaded DPC Latency Checker from http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml.

The result I get is:

“This machine should be able to handle real-time streaming audio and/or video data without drop-outs”

Could there be anything else that I could try and do to resolve the issue?

Regards

Terry

The readings on the chart is taken whilst the sp3eye is running.

Terry, your latency looks good. Could you try to run various resolutions/framerates and report which ones work for you and which ones don’t?

- 320x240 @ 15fps
- 320x240 @ 30fps
- 640x480 @ 15fps
- 640x480 @ 30fps

I’m curious to see at what point do you start seeing these data drops.
