I’m trying to install the SDK in a computer where the OS (windows XP 32) is installed in D: so the code laboratories folder is installed in D:\Program Files…

After connecting the camera windows recognizes a USB Camera B3-.... and then says theres a problem and it may not work. Is that due to installing in D:? Where are the drivers installed normally?

The driver gets installed automatically to the drive where the system directory resides. In your case that would be D:\Windows\System32.
There might be some other problem preventing your system from properly detecting the camera.
What service pack version do you have installed?
