I’m confused. I really don’t understand the business model. Is this driver/SDK free? Or do we have to pay for it? If we have to pay for it, how much does it cost and what do we get?

If I make a program that uses it, can I give away that program? Can I sell that program? What do the users of that program have to do?

As our products pages state:

CL-Eye Driver - Free Driver License
Single camera support for personal non-commercial use.

CL-Eye SDK - Free Developer License
Single and dual camera support for non-commercial development use.

CL-Eye Packs - Commercial Licensing
Unlimited multi-camera support for research and commercial use.
Device licensing credits for distribution in commercial projects.

So to summarize yes both our Driver and SDK are free for non-commercial use but if you wish to use in a commercial project and/or redistribute you have to purchase a CL-Eye Platform Pack which provides a commercial redistributable license with the ability to use as many cameras as needed, Also provides access to commercial forums and ticket system for technical support.

The packs come with a number of credits. What is a credit?

It sounds like you said I can buy a pack for $20 and then sell my program to an unlimited number of people, is that right?

While I won’t go quite so far as CarlKenner I think the licensing could use some examples of how distributing something using the cameras would work. For example I have an 8 pack does that mean it I write a video monitoring program (I am not just an example) and sell it would I have to have the people I sell the software to register each of their cameras and pay a license?

Ok so in short, one credit equates to one camera activation.
You can either sell or give away your program for free (your choice), but you must include the redistributable version of the CLEyeMulticam.dll. This will require that the users of your program have their cameras activated as well in order to use your program.
You may also sell them pre-activated cameras with your software if you wish.

so im not able to use 2 cameras with the free cl-driver ?

how can i get a free developer license? i’m using processing, so i don’t want to use cl studio. is there a way for me to experiment with on processing with just one ps3eye for free?
