Hello,

I am working on a research project and want to find out how to use the camera to track the 3D position of targets e.g. a coloured LED or ping pong ball.

On the playstation, the tracking quality is impressive. Therefore, I am interested in understanding how they calibrate the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters so accurately.

Any suggestions / help would be appreciated.

Regards,

I would suggest using two ps3 eye cameras and you can get a depth map for everything in the screen.

here is an extreamly simple guide I found ages ago on the subject.

http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~nk752/depthMapTut.html#Step 2

otherwise you can use OpenCV to do all of the tracking for you with one camera. The book “Learning OpenCV: Computer Vision with the OpenCV” explains most of what you need to know and how to do it.

I am operating on a analysis study and want to find out how to use the photographic camera to monitor the 3D place of objectives e.g. a colored LED or table tennis basketball. On the ps3, the monitoring quality is amazing. Click here Drug Rehabs
