Hi,
i wanted to use the ps3 microphone with ventrilo,
however it detects the microphone but stops the program from working(press to talk stops working).
i wanted to use the camera with msn live messenger but it gave a black screen.
now im wondering, why wont the drivers work with any program ?
if it works with one why wouldnt it work with another ?
camera is a camera and a mic is a mic right ?

edit—

i just tried using Basic Video - Flash CS3 from the sdk.
but it crashed.
i had to press allow and then it just crashed.
tried to record via youtube, in both internet explorer and chrome.
both crashed there also.

—-edit—
works on msn after switching usb ports.
but still doesnt work on keylemon (facial recognition program)
it just doesnt find the webcam

The CL-Eye driver exposes the PS3Eye camera as a DirectShow video capture source device.
Any software that enumerates DirectShow video capture source devices will see the camera and be able to use it.
If a particular software uses Twain or some other older API like VFW, that software will not see or recognize the camera and therefore not be able to use it.
The same goes for microphone (which by the way is using native Windows built-in driver). The camera exposes microphone as a standard USB Audio Class (UAC) device. So again, any DirectShow compliant software will be able to use the PS3Eye microphone just fine.
