Release Notes

This driver includes the change in frame rate selection. By default the driver runs in basic mode.
For your convenience in the latest driver (v4.0.1.0217) we have added basic/advanced mode selection via ‘cleye.config’ file.
Simply place ‘cleye.config’ file in the same directory where your executable file resides to enable the ‘advanced’ mode.

Basic mode (default)

- 640x480 fps: 15, 30
- 320x240 fps: 15, 30

Advanced Mode

- 640x480 fps: 15, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75
- 320x240 fps: 15, 30, 60, 75, 100, 125

cleye.config file content:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<cleye>
    <
item name="mode" value="advanced" />
</
cleye

NOTE: The config file only applies to the CL-Eye Driver DirectShow component and does not affect any applications using SDK.

UPDATE: This driver fixes the bug introduced in Driver v4.0.1.0215 that affected users under Windows XP OS.

AlexP,
Thanks for updating. Now I can run your driver on my winXP laptop. I uninstalled SP3 anyway. I included your config file with the cl-eye test program and I was able to use the 60FPS at 640*480.

How do I run 60FPS with your processing example that comes with the SDK? If I set FPS to 50 or 60, the camera stops working. I have the config file with processing.exe and also exported to an executable with the config file. Thanks.

The ‘cleye.config’ only applies to the DirectShow component of the driver.
If you are using the SDK and the CL-Eye Multicam API, this config file will have no effect.
When you say that the camera stops running at 60fps are you talking about VGA resolution?
In the processing example, try disabling any kind of camera parameter change during the capture. Depending on your machine speed you should be able to run at 60fps.

Tested the cleye.config in the same Folder as the cleye-test executable but nothing changed.
Sure this is the correct Path ?

Nothing will change. You have to select the new frame rate yourself.
Also under Capture->Set Frame Rate make sure to uncheck the Use Frame Rate checkbox.

surely i did.

Tried upper/lower/scrambled case filename. No more than 30 Hz to select @ 640 x 480 . Any way - thanks for trying to help.

Experiments :

Had a try with Virtual Box (3.1.6) later - USB did not work at all even with my U cam.

Best Program to Stream i found -> U Broadcast - wanted to give it a try with Gpeg2 (Cuda) and 75 Hz

30 Hz works great even Software encoded (MJPEG).

I like the PS3 CAM and your Driver - I will post if I find the reason why cleye.config did not help me.

Is there a streaming possibility in your SDK ? I have the idea of using 4 cams to stream / record our Miniz 1:24 RC races

from different angels.

Greets Thanks Joe

What version of the driver are you using? It might be the os language issue.

Hi everybody,

I still can’t use the 60 fps frame rate.
When you say ‘simply’ put the blablabla XML config blabla, why don’t you ‘simply’ give this file with the driver ?

Could you think that every user has no idea how to make an XML file ?
So i have copy/paste your text in the notepad, and rename the .txt as .config, and put this file with the CL-EyeTest.exe folder, change the framerate in the menu capture/set framerate.
It doesn’t work.

Thank you for your help
