Need some help here: I have a “Silex SX-3000GB” USB Network device connected to my home LAN network, here I have attached the PS3 Camera, all drivers are up to date but the Camera remains blank and just shows the blue light and a constant blinking of the red one.

The device works no poblems with a Logitec or Creative camera.

has anybody any ideas as to how I can get this to work??

Cheers

Is it running firmware 1.0.2?

If Yes, then is the Network (*ALL NODES INVOLVED*) running at 1Gbit/sec speeds?

If Yes, then is the SX driver installed correctly?

If Yes, then let us know.

if No to any of the above; then correct and continue…
Look forward to hearing about this.

Hi Sean,

Basically all are set to what you recommended, new firmware, up to date drivers, network working at full speed, still no picture coming through, it seems as if the network is choking the usb speed somehow….either that or the cam is not compatible with the SX…

I have tested 3 different Cameras on the Silex, all work ok apart from the PS3…..

Cheers

The PS3Eye camera uses USB bulk transfers to stream the video frames. This might be “confusing” the SX device since most cameras and audio devices use isochronous transfers for this type of data. If you need to extend the USB cable range, you might want to look into using one of the active USB 2.0 extender cables. In my tests I was able to use PS3 cam from 60feet (using two 30ft extension cables) away.
