Installing cl eye driver causes pc to crash

So i’ve been using cl eye for few months already and suddenly when I try to open it i only see black screen instead of normal image from my camera. I decided to uninstall the driver then install new one but when I try to actually install everytime installing stops at 1/5 then my pc freezes and I have to restart it. Don’t know if its pc fault or something with the drivers? There was a windows update recently so maybe that’s the cause.

I have the drivers all installed correctly, and ccv 1.5 stable for windows 10 32 bit and I have to first run the CL Eye Test before CCV will even open, and when it does open, the screen for the ps3 eye is black. I have it active and right click for config but cannot change anything in config. Ive been trying for days to figure this out.

Can not run two PS3 cameras with MATLAB

Hi everyone,

I am currently working with two PS3 cameras. Both are connected in USB to my computer.
I would like to do some stream video with MATLAB, however MATLAB does not recognize the two cameras (it recognizes only one camera and think that the other does not exist).

To correct this problem, I have download the driver called : “CL-Eye Driver”.
With the driver I can make some test and I got the two cameras stream on my computer. So it is working well.
However, even with the so called “driver”, MATLAB (and even more normal application such as Skype) can not detect the two cameras at the same time (just one).

Do you have an idea how to fix it ?
I don’t really know if the problem come from MATLAB itself or from the driver.

Only two cameras in SDK, but 4 activated

Hi, i was surprised that CL EYE new drivers are no more supporting WDM sharing

i have developped my own application, and depending on wdm class, the cl eye driver is not visible. neither in direct x.

could you please re-add it ?

Constant Driver Corruption

it seems after programs use this driver it constantly corrupts the driver and
no amount of reboots and shutdowns can fix this at all, Driver version 5.3.0.0341
not even the CL-Eye Test can see the camera, its just a black screen.

i have to keep reinstalling the driver in order for it to return back to a working
state, Is anyone else getting this problem?
and Yes to the devs my camera is not a fake type its a Sony official as
going thru other posts in here with similar it leads to that question first.

thats not the issue, Camera works but if a program like Free track, FacetracknoIR
opentrack, Skype or anything that Uses the camera *including CL-eye Test *
crashes the driver corrupts and it must be reinstalled before the camera
can be reinitialized, and the problem can be reproduced with ease,
when we started purchasing the driver, id expect atleast an issue
like that would be addressed since its release date which i see is in 2012
and now its 2015.

Can we please get alittle help here like newer versions, can provide system spec information
and data very easily to help get this problem solved as this is also a Fresh install
of Windows 7 64 Ultimate not more then a week old.

Long time stability issues with the CL-eye driver

Hi Guys,

I am having an issue with a PS3Eye camera that seems to crash once every few days. Its my second camera with this issue im trying.

I try to get around the issue by restarting every 4 hours, but the solution feels not safe in the long term.

How long runs have you been using the PS3Eye camera for. Is the camera at all suited for long term use?

Im on Windows7 64 bit

PS3 Eye Driver keeps needing to be reinstalled

Just purchased the PS3 Eye drivers a few days ago.

Immediately after the driver installation, the camera works great. Problem is, a few hours later, it stops working, even if the computer hasn’t been rebooted. Even a reboot doesn’t fix it. The only way I’ve found to get it working again is to reinstall the drivers and then the problem repeats. I’m running Windows 7 x64 Pro. Any ideas?

DirectShow Multicam – available in Platform Packs or elsewhere?

Hi. I have been using the simple driver and am happy with it, although so far I haven’t been able to get it to pipe both sound and video to a streaming application (OBS) at the same time. Whenever I activate the sound, the video will not be available and vice-versa.

However, that is not a big problem as microphones are cheap anyway. What is a problem is that I would really like to get 2 or more PS3 Eye video inputs as DirectShow sources. From what you wrote in 2012, this is supposedly being worked on. However, I haven’t read anything about mulitcam DirectShow support in Platform Packs or other software.

I would gladly pay the 20$ for the dual-cam pack or 35$ for the quad-cam pack, but only if DirectShow support for all cameras is guaranteed. Has someone achieved this yet?
