Developing with the CLEyeMulticam.dll in Java

Hello,

I have bought two activation codes for the ps3 camera as well as their drivers, but now I cannot code in Java with them.

I have managed to run the code I want in c++ but I need to do so in Java (Eclipse). So when I see how the c++ application is running I see that it loads the CLEyeMulticam.dll from SYSWOW64.

Meanwhile, in Java I am getting the infamous:

(1) Could not find the CLEyeMulticam.dll
(2) Could not find the CLEyeMulticam.dll
(3) Could not find the CLEyeMulticam.dll (Custom Path)
Exception in thread “main” java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: cl.eye.CLCamera.CLEyeGetCameraCount()I
    at cl.eye.CLCamera.CLEyeGetCameraCount(Native Method)
    at cl.eye.CLCamera.cameraCount(CLCamera.java:113)
    at cameratest0.Testv0.cams(Testv0.java:29)
    at cameratest0.Testv0.main(Testv0.java:22)

When I explored the source code, I noticed that the .jar is looking for the dllpathx32 and dllpathx64, and the one I am manually entering. Which obviously fails to load.

So I know it is not a problem with the DLL’s because it loads in Visual Studio. And that it is trying to load the DLL from the paths it has been told to in the source code. The custom path I am entering is the one that Visual Studio aims to when it loads the applications there.

I really could use some orientation here. It is helpless that the latest SDK’s released lack the CLEyeMulticam DLL’s. I have even downloaded old SDK’s with no luck.

Any ideas?

Processing.org Library Usage

AlexP,
Sometime ago someone in the Processing community has written a Processing/Java library or wrapper for your driver to use the camera to Java. It is a great way to attract visual artists and multitouch folks. Now I can’t find links to the Dec 09 version of your driver before someone told me the CL-driver is the current version. Unfortunately the person that wrote the wrapper is too busy to follow your recent updates so his library only works with your PS3Eye Camera Setup v3.0.0.0901.exe or older.
So could you still provide a link to this file? Thank you!

Am I required to install the CL-Eye Driver before I can run any of the samples in the SDK or before I run any of my own applications?

I tried to run my application on another computer by moving all of the DLLs but the application doesn’t detect any cameras.

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to get multicamera working in Unity based off of the SDK examples but I’m running into trouble with classes that are using windows only DLLs such as InteropBitmap (System.Windows.Interop) and Imaging (System.Windows.Media).

I was wondering if there was an alternative way of writing it so it does not use InteropBitmap and Imaging. There may be more classes like this but right now I’m just trying to work through camera Create function.

Thanks,

CL-Eye Multicam SDK: CLEyeCreateCamera is failing

Hi,

I’m trying to run the CLEyeLatency example from the SDK, and it fails on CLEyeCreateCamera method - some exception in the CLEyeMultical.dll, when calling RtlFreeHeap.

I have compiled the code in Visual Studio 2013 (in case it does matter).

BTW, CLEyeGetCameraCount returns 0, while actually I have one or two cameras connected. And I did not activate the cameras with Device Manager - do I need to activate prior to running the examples?

Thanks!
Michael

CL-Eye SDK and static linking

I am trying to combine CL-Eye with psmoveapi and UniMove. I can produce a valid psmoveapi binary that uses CL-Eye, and the CLEyeMulticam.dll. This can be confirmed with the included tools like test_capture_performance.exe (i get really amazing 187 fps out of my camera with your SDK!).

When i try to load the resulting dlls (libpsmoveapi.dll, libpsmoveapi_tracker.dll and CLEyeMulticam.dll) into Unity, it will not work at all, though. It claims it can’t load the libpsmoveapi_tracker.dll, but i know from previous encounters with that message, that it actually can’t load one of the dependencies of lipsmoveapi_tracker.dll - the message just does not reflect that.

I am pretty sure i could resolve this by linking CL-Eye statically instead of as a DLL. But the SDK - to my knownledge - only includes files for dynamic linking.

Is it possible to get a statically linkable version of CL-Eye?

Hi, I was creating python binding for CLEyeMulticam.dll and found that at this page http://codelaboratories.com/research/view/cl-eye-muticamera-api documentation for CLEyeCreateCamera function has wrong type for frameRate, it should be float instead.

CLEYEMULTICAM_API CLEyeCameraInstance CLEyeCreateCamera(GUID camUUID, CLEyeCameraColorMode mode, CLEyeCameraResolution res, int frameRate);

It will save a lot of time for other people .
