Driver installation keeps cancelling.

I’m following the video instructions and I realized that instead of telling me to have the camera unplugged, the installation wants it plugged in. As I continue, a pop up comes out just saying “connecting to host” and just an OK button; when I press it the rest just says “Installation Aborted” and “Setup was not completed successfully”. Anyone else had the same problem and knows how to fix it? I’m trying to make it work on Windows XP. Thank you

MY Norton keeps say that your driver software for ps3 camera have Trojans in them. I’m really interested in using my ps3 cam on my Pc but i cant download your latest driver it keeps shutting down before it even completes its process.

raw bayer mode with ps eye

hello,

i’m trying to get raw pictures from my ps eye on linux (patched gspca-driver from kaswyweb), but unfortunatly did not succseed til now. I have got datasheets from both, the ov7220 and ov534 chip and changed the initial settings of some registers to bayer raw 8bit, but i only get very noisy pictures. sometimes one can see objects but all coverd with noise. after matching a bayer pattern on the greyscale picture i get colered noise. there are example pictures attached (original greyscale image and this image multiplicated with a bayer pattern). does the bayer raw picture have to look like this or is the raw mode not correctly initialized? what do i have to do to enter bayer mode? There is not much explanation in the datasheets, so if you could help, it would be great.

Intermittent corrupt/garbage frames

Hi Alex,
first of all thanks for making available these great drivers!

Now on to my problems…
I’m experiencing an intermittent problem in the video stream; once in a while (i.e. a few milliseconds between a random number of seconds/minutes) the video gets corrupted like in the snapshot you can find attached—after some frames it returns to normal image.

I made sure that when this happens:
1) there are no CPU usage spikes (always around 20% at 640x480, 30 fps)
2) there are no latency spikes (always below 500 microsecs, checking with DPC Latency Checker)

I also tried different modes (e.g. 320x200, 15 fps) and the issue shows at the same rate.

These are my setup specs (pretty modest):
- Single camera
- Windows XP SP3
- Athlon XP 1.5 Ghz
- RAM 512 MB
- USB 2.0 ports connected via PCI (motherboard don’t have any 2.0 builtin ports)

(Yes, I understand my specs don’t satisfy the minimum requirements, but I wanted to report this issue anyway.
I’ll try to test with another setup when I have the chance.)

The image suggest a kind of “lost synchronization”.

Parameter incorrect?

ok i have downloaded the driver and installed it but then when the found new hardware wizard comes up i click to install the file and at the end it sais could not install driver because the perameter is incorrect any suggestions?

incorrect colors on alternating pixels

I’ve seen this in the older AlexP drivers as well as the new CodeLabs ones (currently using 4.0.1.0217 on Vista 64).

In the attached 320x240 capture, the alternating incorrect colors are particularly noticeable on the edges of black keys.

Has anyone else seen this problem before?

Applications cannot see multiple cameras

Greetings,

I’ve recently started developing an application that require 2 or more webcams using the OpenCV library for C++. When I finally got a second Playstation Eye, I immediately tried it with this application, only to find out that it cannot detect the second camera. Additionally, every other application I try to use can only see the one camera. They work great if only one at a time is plugged in, and even windows recognizes that 2 are connected.

Is there any way to fix this?

PS3 Eye Not Working

I’m running windows 7 and I’ve followed the directions carefully. However, when i start up the test program i get 0.00 FPS and a blank screen. Hope I can find some help here thanks!

Skype camera feed box duplication problem on 4.0.1.127

I’m not sure how to explain this problem, but I updated to the newest version of the driver to 4.0.1.127. The CL-Eye Test app shows the camera feed properly. Skype 4.1 does not. It shows up as a black box with 2 small camera feed boxes at the bottom. Is there a way to fix this or is it a bug in the new driver?

Attached is a picture of what the camera displays on Skype.

I’m running Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit and the latest version of Skype (4.1).

Hi, guru !

Is it possible to read/write PS3Eye camera config EEPROM (24C64) use USB interface?
Can I change camera VID/PID into EEPROM?

I have tried to use some aplication like “Cypress USB Console” for read EEPROM. It was OK for other OmniVision camera chipsets (based on Cypress FX2 chipset, i.e. OVT FX2 “2800”), but it not worked for OV0534.

Maybe you have some ideas…
